Meeting the public’s growing expectation for a wide range of services that support the community is a challenge for even the best local decision-makers. Fiscal restraint, downloading from other levels of government and the need to be more client-focused mean that local governments must be more forward-looking in their approach to service provision. Municipal and regional governments throughout British Columbia and Alberta are turning to Urban Systems’ community planners, municipal engineers and local government/finance professionals to help them develop creative, efficient and cost effective solutions.

We strive to apply the most current knowledge on issues relating to local government service delivery and finance. We also work closely with decision-makers to understand and address the key issues inherent in policy development, regulation, finance and service delivery. Our in-house, multi-disciplinary capabilities enable us to help clients find sound solutions to their complex problems.  Our goal is to develop long term partnering relationships with our clients which enable us to bring a deeper understanding and add greater value to their projects.  We are proficient at helping local governments to define their mission and vision, identify priorities, determine costs associated with projects, find funding sources, facilitate public involvement and turn plans into community-supported actions.
